Hygienic display and control unit
The subject invention relates to a hygienic display and control unit with a front panel, and an arrangement of such a display and control unit on a support plate.
Machines and systems for the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries are subject to particularly stringent hygiene requirements, especially in "open" processes, where the products can come into direct or indirect contact with the production equipment. Criteria are both corrosion resistance and a defined surface quality as well as low susceptibility to fouling and cleaning. This also requires a high degree of robustness, because in addition to water jet and cleaning agents are often used in the necessary frequent cleaning processes also high-pressure cleaner. For this purpose, equipment quality standards have been developed to meet these requirements, e.g. Degree of protection ΙΡ6ΘΚ according to EN 60529. In this case, the number 6 indicates the protection of the electrical equipment against the ingress of solids including dust by total tightness and 9K the protection against the ingress of water during high pressure or steam jet cleaning. While correspondingly designed control cabinets protect many automation components, display and control devices, which are often arranged directly at the workstation, are directly affected by the requirements of this standard and must also meet the defined degree of protection, e.g. IP69K. For this purpose, the materials used must be equal to the cleaning chemicals and the temperature, the seals must reliably, even under pressure, prevent the ingress of liquids and the electronics must cope with the temperature changes occurring.
Conventional seals can not meet these requirements and are therefore unsuitable because it always remains between the components to be sealed a gap in which bacteria and germs and other contaminants can settle and deposit, which is inadmissible for the high hygienic requirements.
The subject application is therefore the task of a display and control unit to further develop so that it meets the high hygienic requirements for tightness, dirt susceptibility and ease of cleaning.
This object is achieved in that a circumferential groove is provided on the outer edge of the front panel of the display and control unit, which is open on the outer peripheral surface of the front panel and inserted in the circumferential groove a sealing element -1-

This ensures that a flush peripheral surface is formed on the outer peripheral edge of the front plate, whereby no gap can form at this point. 5 Preferably, the sealing element is designed with a first, arranged on the outer peripheral edge sealing body, which forms the outer peripheral surface of the sealing element. Thus, a defined sealing point (width, shape, height, etc.) can be created with the first sealing body, which can be easily optimally adapted to the respective needs, without necessarily having to change the rest of the sealing element. If a further sealing body is provided within the first sealing body, the safety of the seal is increased, in particular to ensure at a high pressure cleaning that no cleaning medium can penetrate if the outer sealing barrier would be overcome.
It is also advantageous if the first sealing body and / or a further sealing body 15 has a greater height than the depth of the circumferential groove, as well as the effect of the seal can be specifically adapted. In particular, so that the contact pressure and thus the sealing effect can be adjusted specifically.
To facilitate the assembly, a number of recesses may be arranged at the bottom of the circumferential groove, engage in the arranged on the sealing element projections. Thus, the sealing element on the display and operating device can be easily fixed in position.
In the following, the subject invention will be described with reference to Figure 1, which shows by way of example, schematically and not limitation, an advantageous embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a display and control unit 1 with an outwardly visible front panel 2, 25 e.g. made of stainless steel. The front panel 2 can display units not shown here, such. Displays, lamps, touch panels, etc., and control units, such as e.g. Buttons, buttons, touch panel, etc., have. The display and control units can be covered to the outside for protection and hygiene reasons by a suitable film 3, as shown in Fig. 1. The display and control unit 1 can be arranged on a support plate 4 who-30 the. The support plate 4 could e.g. Part of a machine housing or control cabinet housing or any other machine or plant part.
In the illustrated embodiment, the display and control unit 1 can be held by a support frame 6 on the support plate 4. The holding frame 6 is advantageous in this case -2-...... ···································································································································································· On the display and control unit 1 distributed around the circumference, a number of clamping units 7 are arranged, in each of which a pressure screw 8 is screwed through. The pressure screws 8 engage with an axial end on the support frame 6. The holding frame 6 can now be pressed by means of the An-5 pressing screws 8 against the support plate 4, whereby the display and control unit 1 is also pressed against the support plate 4. As a result, the sealing element 5 is compressed, whereby a hygienic seal is made, as described in detail below. Of course, one could also dispense with the holder frame 6, in particular with a sufficiently thick support plate 4, which in this case would attack the pressure screws 10 directly to the support plate 4.
Likewise, any other clamping arrangements for holding the display and control device 1 are conceivable, such as. known tension levers or spring-actuated tensioner. Instead of a contact pressure screw 8 as a pressing element comes in this case, another pressing element which engages the support plate 4 or on a support frame 6, set for A-15.
In order to eliminate a gap between the front panel 2 and the support plate 4, a sealing element 5 according to the invention is provided between these parts, which is described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.
On the front plate 2, a peripheral circumferential groove 10 is provided on the outer periphery, 20 which is open on the outer peripheral surface 13 of the front panel 2 and in which the sealing element 5 is inserted. The sealing element 5 is arranged on the outer peripheral edge flush with the outer peripheral surface 13 of the front plate 2, so that in the compressed state (Figure 3) results in a continuous peripheral surface without gap.
The Dichtiementi 5 is designed as a seamless frame, which is arranged in the circumferential groove 10 25, wherein the outer peripheral surface 18 of the sealing element 5 is arranged flush with the peripheral surface 13 of the front panel 2. At the outer peripheral edge of the sealing member 5, a first sealing body 14 is provided which terminates flush with the peripheral surface 13 of the support plate 4 at the outer peripheral edge. The first sealing body 14 is here rectangular in shape with a flat, the support plate 4 facing sealing surface 30 15, which is arranged parallel to the planar extent of the support plate 4 and the front panel 2 at.

Within the externally arranged first sealing body 14, further sealing bodies arranged further inwards, e.g. second and third triangular sealing body 16, 17 may be arranged as in the illustrated embodiment. These may also have a greater height than the depth of the circumferential groove 10 to ensure compression of the sealing body 16,17 during assembly. These additional sealing bodies 16, 17 serve primarily as additional security, in order to ensure, above all, in the case of high-pressure cleaning, that no cleaning medium can penetrate.
It may also be provided that a number of depressions 11, e.g. Blind holes are arranged, in which arranged on the sealing element projections 12, such as. projecting nubs, engage to fix the sealing element 5 in the position, which can facilitate assembly.
The sealing element 5 is a seamless frame, e.g. made of silicone, or another suitable plastic, which is preferably injection-molded in one piece to an exact size. Endless profiles, which are used in the circumferential groove 10 are not suitable for the objective application in the hygiene sector, which always results in a gap at the front-side joint.
During assembly (FIG. 3), the carrier plate 4 and the front plate 2 are pressed together until the two plates lie flat against one another at a contact surface 20. In this case, the sealing element 5, or the sealing body 14, 16,17, compressed in height, in order to achieve a sufficient sealing effect. On the outer peripheral surface 13 results in a seamless and gapless transition between the front panel 2 and the support plate 4, to meet the high demands in the field of hygiene. The sealing bodies 14, 16, 17 will bulge out (as exaggeratedly shown in FIG. 3), the outer peripheral surfaces 13, 18 of the front plate 2 and of the sealing element 5 still being considered to be flush despite bulging. It is essential here that no gap is formed on the outer peripheral surface between the front plate 2 and the carrier plate 4.

1.
